General
Form=AABA-Back to the music page
Level 0for eachA=1 + 10
with Bar-lines placed atLevel -2, 4 bars per cell, 8 bars (2 cells) in eachA
Level 0for eachB=1 + 4
with Bar-lines placed atLevel -1, 2 bars per cell, 8 bars (4 cells) in eachB.
TheBsection has a smallerLevel 0than theAsections.
Unfortunately,Level 0of theAs does not coincide withLevel +1of theB.
TheBis late and should be placed a bar sooner,
by removing Bar 16 (placing its Pick-up in Bar 15) and placing it after
theB.
When this bar is replaced after theBsection, some kind of 1-bar fill should be inserted.
NOTE that the change of leveldoes NOT take place at the breath between the 2 phrases,
but sooner, at the beginning of the last Beat of the previous phrase.
Going into a larger level must be done later, and
going into a smaller level must be done sooner.
This bridge misplacement is common practice, buta half-point lost anyway.
In order to make the largeLevel 0of theAs more perceptible,
especially during theBwhen it is felt asLevel +1,
we strongly recommend that you placeFootsiesat this large level
and hold them throughout the entire piece.
Sing the song, always placing 1 foot movement per bar,
1. start theAsections with the feetL(left)T(ouch)/ R(ight)T(4 bars) for each large cell, but
2. start theBsection sooner with the feet T / L T // R(4 bars) for 2 small cells, and
you will really feel how the 2 sections tie in when Bar 16 is removed.
Sing it again, this time the way it is written, and notice the difference.
TheBsection will also start with the feetL T / R T(like theA).
Compare the two carefully and decide which you prefer.
TheRhythm Graphics(of the revised veresion) can also be a valid visual aid.
Each small horizontal line represents one bar (the longer lines, 2 bars).
Each cell, large or small, has a "drop" vertical line in the center,
and is separated from the other cells by the absence of any vertical line.
The last long vertical "drop" has been arbitrarily shortened to save space.
The little graphic in the lower left represents theBin its original position,
with each cell disposed down-up (Beat-Offbeat) instead of up-down (Offbeat-Beat).
These procedures should help you to compare the 2 versions,
especially if you do them all at the same time,
sing with the Footsies while you look at the graphics.
Melo-rhythm
A=pF+pF+ K3M(forcode)
A veryrebounding
split cell, followed by a Kinetic / Masculine cell to close theA.
Only oneEntityperA, and
very littleSymmetry, forcing a repeat of the Entity.
B=p2K2F- p2K2M p2K2F p2K2M
All Kinetic cells - paired off Feminine, Masculine, Feminine, Masculine.
The first Feminine is snapped (F-) and the second is normal (F)
which fuses the first two cells less than the last two,
what one might call a"MI-MI-MA flavor".
The Entities, and the Symmetries, are quite evident here -
2 Entities of 2 cells each,
Off-beat Symmetry between the four cells,
by no means excessive (the Melo-lines are different in the fourth cell),
but more than in theA.
Nice job -add 1.5 points, especially for the Melo-rhythm of theA.
Melo-harmony
A=M54(forcode)
No problem or complication ofEntitiesor Symmetry here,
1 Entity of 2 cells,
we are dealing with a simple 2-cellchord pattern, TONIC / TONIC \ DOMINANT / TONIC,
with smaller level tenant chords (all flatter, indicated lower case),
TONIC,counter/ TONIC, counter, \ tonic, DOMINANT / TONIC.
In the first cell, the second half of each of the 4 chords has beendominantized,
C, C7, F, Fm6/ C, C7, F, Fm66 \ C, C6, G7, G7, / C
which automatically produces an excellent counter-melody line,
G, Bb, A, Ab / G, Bb, A, Ab \ G, A, B, D / C,add 1.5 points.
B=M7711
TONIC / COUNTER \ TONIC / COUNTER \ANTE-1/ DOMINANT \ ANTE-1 / DOMINANT,
with all the Off-beatsdominantized, C7/ F \ C7/ F \ D7/ G \ D7/ G.
No problem or complication of Entities orSymmetryhere either,
4 Entities of 1 cell each,
we are dealing with a chord pattern which repeats each cell, common practice
for abridge.
Melo-lines
A=Orbit 1,Orbit 0/Orbit 1,Orbit 1\Orbit 2,Orbit 1/Orbit 1, G, C / G, F \ E, D / C,
with a secondary, lower, line ofOrbit 1,Orbit 2/Orbit 1, C, B / C, for the second cell.(forcode)
No problem or complication ofEntitiesorSymmetryhere,
we are dealing with only one 2-cell Entity with very little Symmetry,
the first cell remaining on thenotes, G, C, and F, and
the last cell on a short version of the "winner", E, D, C, which closes
the Entity,
Symmetry being added by repeats of theA.
B=Orbit 3-Orbit 2withOrbit 0-Orbit 1,Orbit 3-Orbit 2withOrbit 0-Orbit 2
3x (Orbit 3/Orbit 2), C / A \ C / A \ D / B
(with Csubstitutingfor Bb and D substituting for C),
followed byOrbit 1/Orbit 1, the "winner" (D, C, B, A / G) in the DOMINANT key .
No problem or complication of Entities or Symmetry here -
we are dealing with only one 4-cell Entity,
with considerable Symmetry between the Off-beats of the first three cells.
The Melo-lines of the bridge are fine, in a higher register, and
a pleasant contrast to theAsection.
The problem, as we know, is in the rhytmic placement of the Bridge
(late).
As far as the Melo-lines are concerned -a half-point added here,
especially for the Melo-lines of theA.
Review of Entities
In theA,
Melo-rhythm has 1 2-cell entitiy,
Melo-harmony has 1 entity,M54
Melo-lines could be considered as having 2 entities, withOrbit 1/Orbit 1, in the first cell.
the Melo-lines entities are different from the other two.
In theB,
Melo-rhythm has 2 entities, 2 cells each,
Melo-harmony has 4 entities,M7711
Melo-lines has 1 entity,Orbit 1-Orbit 1, at the end
the three entities are different.
Scores
In the technical evaluation -
a half-point was lost,5 - .5 = 4.5
In the artistic evaluation -
3.5 points were added.
Total score = 8 points
With the Bridge sooner, our score would be8.5points.

Comments and Questions after reading this Revised Page
The concept of uneven A - B sections is completely new to me.
What you call "uneven" is a question of levels, which make the Bridge come in sooner
or later. We suggest you do someFootsiesif you have not already done so.
