Fugue 10

Specifics

FormAAAA BBAA BBAA, a ternary form at the large level,
with a strong cadence at the end of theAAAAand of the secondBBAA.
Chord PatternM57-24, an extension of patternM7-4,
with the S2 in the same direction as the S1.
The melody chosen will be theFare Thee Wellversion ofPolly Wolly Doodle,
with a CS quite similar to that of the original, in Class 5.

The flowing nature of this subject, with its long notes on the Beat,
and the similarity of the first X with the Subject, with the same motif in the opposite direction,
give this fugue a particularly choral feeling.
