Keyboard Harmony / Uniform Keyboard / Exercises / Second Step

The Second Step

The second step consists of adding the note on each side of the ditone,
with both hands in contrary motion, using the same fingers.

Second Step 1

Still arbitrarily written in F# major, with both hands in contrary motion.

Fingerings
The 3 notes of the ditone are still played in the same row (F#,G#, A#, with fingers 234).
The thumb (E# or B, with finger 1) can either play one row closer, or 3 rows closer,
depending on the size of the hand.
Finger 5 (B or E#) will play 1 row closer than the ditone.
A large hand will use rows bde and a smaller hand will use rows bc or de.
