This is the only example which presents Melody 1 by itself. In Example 2, Example 3, and Example 4, only the complete version, with Counter Melody, will be presented.

Comparison Of The Two Melodies
Jingle Bells - - - Oh! What Fun
General Form = AA' Level 0 for each A = 0 + 3 - - - Level 0 for each A = 0 + 2 with Bar-lines placed at Level -1, 2 bars per cell, 8 bars (4 cells) in each A.
MeloHarmony The two melodies evidently have the same harmonies, chords, "changes" M5661 5664
The Harmony of the first 3 cells (six bars) is identical in the A and in the A', M566, only the fourth cell being different, cadencing to the DOMINANT in the A, M1, and to the TONIC in the A', M4.
MeloRhythm The two same Entities appear in both A and A', with exactly the same words. The first Entity = F=F= K2M (for code) - - - The first Entity = K1F= K1M (for code) The second Entity with Pick-ups - - - The second Entity remains the same
Unfortunately, the number and size of Entities is the same in both melodies, but the size of the note-values is quite different, essentially s in Melody 1, s in Melody 2, and the rhythmic association is also quite different, rebounding in Melody 1 F=F=, pick-up in Melody 2 K1=F=. The words of Melody 2 were taken from bars 5-8 of Melody 1.
MeloLines A = Orbits 2 / 2 \ 3 / 2 \ 3 / 2 \ 0 / 0 - - - A = Orbits 1 / 3 \ 2 / 1 \ 2 / 1 \ 2 / 1 A' = Orbits 2 / 2 \ 3 / 2 \ 3 / 2 \ 1 / 1 - - - A' = Orbits 1 / 3 \ 2 / 1 \ 2 / 1 \ 2 / 1 (for code)
Only one Orbit has been chosen in each bar, whatever precedes Orbit 2 being considered Orbit 3. During the first TONIC bar, of the first cell, the Orbit has relatively little importance because it does not resolve. It was chosen for reasons of Sonorities, 2 / 2 with 1 / 0(3). However, the following choices were carefully planned : in the second cell (bars 3-4) 3 / 2 with 2 / 1, in the third cell (bars 5-6) 3 / 2 with 2 / 1, in the fourth cell (bars 7-8) 0 / 0 with 2 / 1, for the A and (in bars 15-16) 1 / 1 with 2 / 1 for the A'.
Analysis Of Melody 2
General Everything satisfactory in its AA' form.
Melo-rhythm Everything satisfactory in its K1F= K1M shape, the same as that of Twinkle, Twinkle.
Melo-harmony Everything satisfactory in its M5661 5664 chord pattern,
Melo-lines An abundance of 2-1 which fit in well with the Melo-harmony, with a strong Mozart Alleluia feeling in the last 4 bars.
General Review of Entities Everything satisfactory in the variety of their proportions, with 1 entity in the Melo-harmony, but 4 entities in the Melo-rhythm and 4 entities in the Melo-lines.
